I was looking for help with my putting on Bermuda greens. I remembered the 1A from my childhood. I saw the putter advertised and thought it might be one from the early 1960's until I read the description. These are brand new factory fresh putters. I took my putter out and used it for a couple rounds. The ball flies off when compared with newer putters. I would assume the science suggests the more controlled face contact starts the ball rolling more true. However, I find the 'springy' action is what I need to control distance on my local greens. BEST OF ALL --- The Ping sound from striking the ball. I was on the practice green and had a small crowd come over as they heard the ping.

I have always loved the sound of the original Ping putter.They look like a tuning fork on a stick.We don't need no stinking MOI.The sound of the ball striking that face and then falling into the hole,that's some sweet music.

Not the same "ping"
It doesn't "ping" like the u-tube video I have seen or the person that had one that I met, but maybe with age it will get better. I think the putter is great and I will continue to use it.

Ping 1A putter
I ordered this putter because of the distinctive sound that it made. A golfing friend of mine had one and the sound was like hitting a tuning fork. I received a brand new on from ping a week or so ago and the sound is nothing like what I expected. More of a clang and not the ping that I have heard from other similar putters. Very disappointed. Nothing against Morton Golf Sales, they were true to their advertising. They informed me that my putter was coming directly from Ping and that it would be a little delayed. Very pleased with Morton Golf Sales
